Accommodations

Stepping over the threshold into Nordic Star brings you into a lavish nautical living room with an easy-to-clean cushioned L-shaped dinette on both port and starboard. A small end table with storage is nestled at the stern end of the port side seating. On the starboard side, a large entertainment center encompasses the entire bulkhead and fits a nice, large flat screen TV, DVD player, wine bar and more. Between both dinettes and the galley area are two additional end tables, each with three small drawers. These are perfect places to house items like reading glasses, games, maps and your current novel or magazine. Aft of the salon is a grand galley. A mini counter to starboard creates a fabulous place to spread out appetizers and drinks, but it also conceals the double-wide under counter refrigerators. To port is the main section of the large U-shaped galley with durable solid surface countertops, a large double sink, an ice maker, a four-burner GE electric glass top stove with a microwave set into the cabins above, a separate oven, and a crazy number of drawers and cabinets for storing pots, dishes and pantry items. Throughout the salon and galley, beautiful inset lighting and wall lamp sconces create the perfect ambiance for what you desire for your social gathering or personal enjoyment. Beautiful wood valances above the walls of windows conceal honeycomb blinds that give you the evening privacy you desire. A curved staircase leads you from the galley into the belly of Nordic Star. One stateroom has two single berths in a bunk bed configuration. Drawers under the bottom bunk, cabinets, and a large hanging locker provide storage space for enough clothing for a nice long voyage. Another stateroom has a double berth and a hanging closet and other storage as well. Sliding doors section each stateroom off for privacy. The shared head is spacious and has a large separate shower stall and a Vac-U Flush commode. The hand sink is large and plenty of counter space, cabinetry and mirrors with great lighting keep this area bright and tidy. The lighting is exceptionally great for putting on make-up or face shaving. Steps up into the bow bring you to the v-berth stateroom. Two long single berths are positioned lower with two additional berths bunked up. A TV is perched in the peak of the V, making this a great room to house kiddos when it s time to slow down for the evening. The wide beam of Nordic Star give this space a roomy feeling you won t find in other vessels of similar length. There is also a nice amount of head space. An ensuite head also has its own separate shower stall and Vac-U Flush commode. Five hundred gallons of water in two stainless steel water tanks, 20 gallons of hot water, and 100-gallon holding tank serve your on-board water needs. A hatch in the ceiling is accessible by a safety ladder mounted to the wall. Easily open it for some extra fresh air when you need it. A mini fridge is just outside the door to this room for storing those movie or midnight snacks. Up a few stairs from the main salon brings you into the pilothouse helm. The centerline helm station has a comfortable swivel captain s chair with arms that raise and lower as you desire. There is a huge amount of space for all your electronics that you may want to add, including a laptop computer. The five-panel windshield, plus windows and glass doors on both port and starboard give you an excellent view of your surroundings. A petite settee is positioned on the port side next to the helm and slightly faces the captain so that two adults can stay close and connected to the captain s conversation while underway. A small companion seat is on starboard. Behind the helm area is an expansive U-shaped raised convertible dinette where five to six adults can sit and talk and laugh while the beautiful scenery passes by. At night, this dinette sleeps two adults comfortably. An opaque privacy curtain stretches along a track to turn this into a cozy private berth. A small set of stairs goes from the pilothouse outside to the upper deck. In all, there are two double berths and six single berths on Nordic Star, sleeping 10 adults comfortably. Carpet, teak woodwork, and high end finishings throughout this beauty keeps this a cozy environment for everyone.

On Deck

It is easy to come aboard Nordic Star. Access to her wide swim deck with rails on both sides can be made from either port or starboard. A centerline transom door easily opens inward so you can access the deck in a flash. The cockpit on Nordic Star is nicely set up for fishing excursions. You can use the swim deck as a fishing platform if you d like to make room for an audience to sit in the cockpit. The upper deck overhangs the cockpit and provides a nice shelter from blinding summer sun and rain clouds. A utility sink and a fillet table are nice additions to the fishability of Nordic Star, as well as her pole holders, ample deck lighting, cockpit speakers, and other details that make life fun aboard her. This vessel model has a full walk-around deck design, so fishing off her side decks or bow is easily done. A short ladder from the cockpit takes you to the upper deck, another spot from which you can fish. The upper deck also houses the 10 Caribe inflatable dinghy and the electric davit for it. You can also fit other things like a kayak or deck chairs up here. It makes a great perch for watching wildlife or whales.

Engines

This graceful vessel is nicely powered by a reliable 2006 Cummins QSM11 670 horsepower diesel engine with 7,659 hours on it. She cruises at 11.5 knots and carries 1,300 gallons of fuel in two aluminum fuel tanks. Access her large stand-up walk around engine room through a door off the sleeping quarters. There is easily enough room to get to all her systems, as well as places to store extra equipment. Nordic Star s helm has Teleflex hydraulic steering with ZF Electronic controls. She has two Racor fuel filters and a Reverson change oil system. Easy docking is made possible by her bow and stern thrusters, each with its own separate battery. Ground tackle includes a 40-pound Lewmar anchor on a Lewmar electric winch with 350 feet of galvanized chain. She also comes with a spare Danforth anchor.

Electrical and Electronics

Nordic Star s expansive helm is a work of beauty with a place for all the right electronics and all the right electronics in its place. She has a SIMRAD CX54 NavStation integrated system with a Furuno Navnet GPS and radar and a Cummins SmartCraft display. Two Quantum GX23605 VHF are for communications. There is plenty of room at the helm for additional items you might desire, like a laptop or a TV. When at the dock, plug her into 50 amp shore power. While underway, your power needs are met by the Northern Light 12K generator. She has a Group 27 12 volt generator start battery, a Centual 100 amp battery charger, alternator, two 4D start batteries, eight six-volt housebank batteries, and an electrical batteries switch. Nighttime docking is a breeze with two forward-facing searchlight spotlights. While underway or entertaining dockside, play some great party tunes on the Panasonic CD stereo system with complete Bose surround sound inside and outside speakers. There is also a Samsung and a Sharp TV, both with DVD players.
