Exceptionally well cared for one owner, freshwater vessel with meticulous service history available showing the highest level of care.
The Sea Ray 480 Sedan Bridge features twin, 3196 Caterpillar engines. The interior of the boat includes three private staterooms, two full heads, two entertainment centers, and sleeping accommodations for large groups of people.
This is a one owner boat, delivered to current owner in spring of 2002. Freshwater boat, used on Lake Rathbun in south central Iowa from 2002 to 2006. In 2006 it was moved to the Mississippi River in Davenport Iowa where it remained until 2008.  During that time the boat made a trip to Florida where it saw 4 months of salt or brackish exposure with approximately 110 hours of run time. In 2008 the boat was moved to Lake Michigan where it has remained since.
Engines currently have approx 1350 hours on them and 1987 hours on the Generator.
The boat was kept outside shrink wrapped from new to 2005 and kept indoor heated storage from 2006 to current.  IT is currently located in heated storage in Milwaukee and can be viewed by appointment.
Boat has been maintained and cleaned and waxed regularly by the owner and professional service providers.  The boat has always been waxed at least once a year and has always had bi-weekly details by marine portering companies.
Bottom paint done every 3-4 years as needed. Impellers replaced every 3 years.
Hoses and belts have been on a regular inspection and replacement regimen. Recent replacements include Alternator belt replacement in 2016 and water intake hoses from seacocks to impellers replaced 2017.
 Vacuflush heads rebuilt winter 2016
Complete and updated set of manuals for all systems and components included
All systems were regularly exercised between regular boat uses as per service and inspection checklists by both owner and independent service providers
Complete documented records of outside laboratory oil analysis of motors available
Current Caterpillar engine use histogram on motors demonstrating RPM and loading history will be made available for surveyor. Motors always operating within recommended range 1900 rpm max suggested operating. Code history available. Owner can document circumstance of any and all reported codes in the ECM history. Never been overheated as per code history and regular service provided to coolant and raw water systems
In spring of 2003, the aftercoolers on both propulsion motors were replaced with the latest and current version of the Caterpillar part. There had been an issue with these motors and earlier rendition aftercoolers that developed most often in saltwater environments and due to lack of maintenance of aftercooler condensate valves. Documentation available of this work completed by Cat dealer and that the aftercoolers are the latest part number. Cost for this work is unknown as it was provided under recall by Cat
In fall of 2007, the owner noticed a slight increase in time required to bring boat on plane. It was learned that the turbo housings on both motors had manufacturing defects that allowed erosion in the housing casting and resulted in lowered turbo pressure boost. Both turbos were replaced and later Cat modifications were added to the motors at this time, including the latest version of the motor operating system. At this time the motor valves and guides were all inspected and adjusted as per the service manual. Invoices available for this work that was performed by a Cat dealer. Cat provided most of cost under customer goodwill repair cost
On major repairs of aftercoolers and turbos owner was present and witnessed the work
Owner has detailed history of all system and component maintenance, repair, and replacement, and has very high understanding of boat systems
There have been no groundings, collisions, or fiberglass or structural repairs. There have been normal encounters in soft bottom inlets and harbors resulting in the need to service props on two occasions, one in Florida in 2007, and one on the Mississippi River in 2006. These were minor prop issues only, no shaft, rudder, struts, or bottom fiberglass damage
There have been no other significant repairs other than reported here
The owner hired a marine electronics technician for a near full day inspecting, routing, bundling, re-tieing all wiring harnesses to clean up what I would consider some Sea Ray deficiencies
An available spreadsheet of checklists and maintenance items document hundreds of misc. repairs, replacements, upgrades, etc. An audit of original to replacement parts would confirm that to a high degree all components that have limited service life have already been replaced at least once. That would include bilge pumps and switches, fresh water pumps, battery chargers, air conditioning systems, hydraulic hoses to swim platform, etc.
