2000 Valiant 42

Deale, Maryland, United States

New to the Market

We are excited to represent this beautiful and totally loaded Valiant 42. Virginia Rose  has been carefully outfitted for extended cruising. This Valiant is in excellent Turn Key condition. The Valiant 42 is well known in the blue water sailing community for her great sailing characteristics and the cutter rig setup makes for a very manageable sail plan.

The Valiant 42 is an excellent choice for a cruising couple or solo sailor. They are easy to sail single handed or with crew. The deck area is designed and planned for safety at sea with a hard dodger, solid stern rails and winches within easy reach of the helm. This is well thought out functionality to ensure comfort and safety.

She is a classic Bob Perry design with a high bow with a little flare and a long sleek shear ending with the classic rounded stern that is buoyant and safe in a seaway. The underbody is refined with a long modified fin type cruising keel and full skeg mounted rudder which gives the boat excellent tracking ability and is easily steered by the wind vane or the autopilot. Valiant Yachts are hand laid solid glass hulls made in a female mold with a heavy layup. The massive rubrail is a Valiant signature element that is useful and reassuring. Everything involved in the construction and engineering of a Valiant is a little bit oversized and overbuilt, which makes them extremely strong and capable to sail with confidence in any kind of conditions.

Systems installations are first class with everything properly engineered and installed so that it's easy to access and service. There is access to every vital system and piece of equipment on the boat. Tanks and engine can come out through natural openings the way it came in after the deck was down.

Virginia Rose has a very livable interior layout, with a roomy salon, well thought out galley, very functional NavStation, and an organized and accessible engine room. The forward stateroom has good storage and seating, the head compartment has a separate shower that can be easily reached from the companion way to hang your foul weather gear, and the guest cabin functions as another sleeping area or storage space.

Virginia Rose is outfitted for long distance voyaging and living aboard for extended periods of time with comfort features such as air conditioning, diesel heat, solar panels, and generator for the power you need. Her strong build and dependability make her a safe and comfortable home where ever you want to go.
